The accompanying YouTube video of these instructions can be found here or at the bottom of this page. It’s a rough and possibly annoying video but it might be the fastest way to show you how to adjust this model 😂

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Version 4 (V4) iPhone Standby Mode Dock! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about customizing and printing your dock, from downloading files to final adjustments.

2. Downloading the Files

  1. Visit the model page on MakerWorld: https://makerworld.com/en/models/617129#profileId-556745
  2. Download the Fusion 360 file (labeled iPhone Standby Mode Dock - Remix - True Parametric Model for ALL Phone & Case Sizes Master File.f3d) for customization.
  3. Optional: Grab the pre-made iPhone 3mf files if you don’t need to customize.
  4. If you’re looking for any of the older versions, visit the Archive Folder.

3. Setting Up Fusion 360

  1. Open Fusion 360 (sign up & download for free personal use).
  2. Go to File > Open and select the downloaded .f3d file.
  3. Optional: I recommend adjust a few of your visual settings for accuracy:
  4. Save regularly. Fusion is known for crashing. If you’ve been working on this for awhile be sure to save your progress. Fusion 360 has you save on their cloud but you can also save by ‘exporting’ to your desktop.

  1. I created 2 fake phone models that you can toggle ‘on’ and ‘off’ to help you visualize what your phone will look like. These are located on the left browser tree and might be nested inside toggles.

  2. There are 2 saved views that change your orientation so you can see the phone section clearly during any part of these adjustments. Left click once on them to use them. Use the View Cube in the top right corner to move your view around freely. Hit the ‘Home’ icon if you ever get disoriented.

4. Adjusting the Dock Parameters

  1. Collect your measurements. If you are using an iPhone without the case, you can use my measurements on this google sheet. This sheet also has some miscellaneous measurements you might want as well.

  2. Navigate to Modify > Change Parameters.

  3. Click on each ‘Expression’ column to change the following key parameters:

*If you have ‘Automatic Compute’ checked, you will see these changes in the background as you type them in.

Optional: Phone Corner Adjustments

  1. Once you click ‘ok’ and finalize the addition of your parameters, if the corners of the phone are curved more or less than what you need we can fix that. Go to the timeline at the bottom of the window. Find the feature that is says ‘EDIT Phone Radius’ when your mouse hovers over it. Right click and click, ‘Edit Feature’.
